I don't have a lot of experience with high-end matte lip colors such as Kat Von D or Anastasia, or even Jeffree Star. I have tried the Ofra cosmetics line of matte liquid lips so that is what I make my comparison too.
So like the Ofra, these do not dry down to a 100% dry formula (at least the colors I have don't) However they still last a really long time and don't dry my lips out. I find for the best longevity and wear what I need to do is apply one layer, blot off the excess on a tissue and then apply another layer on top and blot again. This really helps take off the excess product so I don't have to worry about any bleeding or smudging.
These did come of a little when I ate, but it was an even wear. It didn't flake off in any way and when it did wear down there was a sort of stain left behind on the lip so it didn't look patchy at all. Also, I did reapply after eating and again it didn't crumble or flake off, so a total win.
These have doe foot applicators but the ends aren't that padded so its really easy to get a crisp line on the edges of your lip. I do have thin lips so I didn't need to dip back in to the product, but I don't think you would need to even if you had bigger lips than mine.
Overall I think these are a total win, I picked mine up for around $3. Definitely give these a try if you are into the matte lips, or even if you just want to experiment with matte lips. You can try these without breaking the bank.
