Woohoo! Another bargain find. I picked up these Broadway Colors Matte Lip Lacquer ($3 each) at the Dollar General. They were on a display on an end-cap around the beauty section. When I saw them, without any hesitation I snatched up all the colors. I have been to a few Dollar Generals but only found 4 shades, I don't know how many are in the range.
As we are all aware matte lips are the thing right now and I am on board, especially when it comes to bold colors. The formula on these are quiet creamy/mousse like and are very pigmented. Because they are creamy they are very comfortable, they don't move or slip around the lips but they also don't feel like sandpaper when you touch your lips together. Also due to their creamy texture they don't crumble or crack off the lips. These will transfer, but only for a little while. You can blot off the excess and it will become more transfer proof but I didn't find that necessary. They last through eating and drinking, you may need to do a little top up if you are eating greasy foods (which is to be expected with any liquid lip) but they are long lasting. I fell asleep with the pink on, mind you I sleep face first in my pillow, when I woke up there was no pink on my pillow nor was it smeared across my face. Pretty amazing if you ask me.
The only shade I found issue with was the blue. Its the only one that is metallic and I found it hard to get an even opaque coverage unless it was built up. So I would skip on the blue. But if any of the other shades tickle your fancy, go for it.
